Lori Mann launched MannBitesDog PR in Los Angeles in 2003. Having worked the West Hollywood and the NYC Midtown PR agency scene, she saw limitations that consistently existed in larger firms. In the last decade, with no hesitation to take action in any area, Mann developed MannBitesDog into a bicoastal boutique agency that addresses clients' needs individually…no cookie cutter model here.

 

From conception to development, MannBitesDog has opened brick & mortar locations in New York City, Newport Beach, and San Juan Capistrano. As of 2010, MBD stakes claim on an aggressive bicoastal presence in New York City and Newport Beach (covering the Los Angeles & Orange County areas), which currently serves as the main dog house.

    President & CEO

    As a scholar (undergraduate & graduate study at UCLA & Pepperdine University), writer (published writer & copywriter), and media correspondent (guest appearances on NBC, CBS, Fox and the CW), Mann headlines her namesake MannBitesDog with an aggressive, creative, and diligent approach toward the media with a streamlined focus on strategy.

    Maintaining leadership roles throughout her lifetime, Mann "mans" a team approach with junior and senior executives at the MannBitesDog Newport Beach home base. She simultaneously functions as a working publicist, however, not just the alpha dog. Having based her agency in New York City from 2007-2010, clients and colleagues joke that the New Yorker side comes out in her fast-moving decision making, master-of-spin headlines, and communication with reporters, producers, and editors. Igniting others with creativity in the office, Mann brings this energy in person to editor desk-side pitch meetings in New York and Los Angeles which she conducts herself, is a force behind the camera in client television placements and photo-shoots, and is able to establish both a presence and a collaboration with media affiliates during client interviews, filmings, and PR stunt maneuvers.

    Garrett Hughes

    A former Washington D.C. lobbyist, producer, writer, and professional actor, Garrett Hughes is the guy to talk to when it comes to crafting messages. With the wherewithal to tackle big projects, Hughes successfully lobbied a $65 million campaign for research funding for muscular dystrophy on Capital Hill. Moving from politics to entertainment, Hughes’ producer credits include Spike TV and MTV Networks and story positioning at Platinum Studios. In his acting career, Hughes performed off-Broadway in addition to roles in film & television, including a role on ABC’s “Lost.” Understanding the backstage scene of the industry, Hughes possesses the insider knowledge when it comes to event launches, celebrity branding, and creative messaging. With degrees in political science and theater from the University of Virginia, this scene-stealer has work-life credits in Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii and Wyoming. Overseeing account management and event production, Garrett Hughes epitomizes MannBitesDog PR’s east-meets-west coastal perspective.

    Lindsey Nico

    A journalist, poet, and creative writer, former radio DJ, and current musician, Lindsey Nico is a master of creativity and quick-thinking. Her high intelligence, quick wit, and high-speed writing allows her to work with media deadlines like a smooth operator. Nico comes to MannBitesDog with a work history involving nonprofit launches, grassroots campaigns, music videos, fashion shows, and retail photo-shoots. Her creative mind and LA-scene-stealer ways line her up to serve as a lead force in Event PR here at MannBitesDog.

    Mario Bassani

    As former track teammate of Lori's, the friendship and trust between Mann and Bassani is ironclad. Both hail from entrepreneurial and self-starter roots and tackle projects like the careful preparation for a championship race. Bassani, a former professional track & field athlete, is a major liaison to professional athletes, leading sports/health/fitness/lifestyle brands, and image consultation. As an agent to professional athletes in Europe and stateside, Bassani is the international link for MannBitesDog PR. Bassani lead MannBitesDog in its involvement with Alta Roma Fashion Week 2014 (Rome, Italy).

    Chelsea Brigham

    Hailing from California State University Fullerton, Brigham graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, and an emphasis in Public Relations. At, CSUF, Chelsea served as the Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing on behalf of Alpha Chi Omega, Epsilon Kappa chapter. During that time Chelsea planned community outreach events and created a social media campaign to enhance brand awareness. Currently Chelsea's role at MannBitesDog allows her apply her creative dexterity to current and potential clients' publicity campaigns. Although a Washington state native, she now resides in Southern California where she enjoys escorting clients to media events and providing general PR counsel.

    Gil Burciard

    Headlines are even bigger when dispersed in multiple languages. Meet quad-lingual Gil Burciard. This San Diego, CA native was raised in Tijuana, Mexico, attended high school in Belgium, and studied marketing at Loyola Marymount University. Gil possesses total fluency in Italian, French, Spanish, and English given his extensive global experience. Coupled with interpersonal ability and high energy, these skills make him a perfect fit to liaison with international clients as well as identifying potential new trends within international arenas. This energy-driven powerhouse keeps balance by running seven miles a day for spiritual, physical, and mental well-being.
